Project Overview
Pure Renewables were contracted to design a renewable energy solution across two sites at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre, as part of London Borough and Hillingdon Council’s project to decarbonise council owned buildings. The project brief also required the team to remove and decommission the existing boiler plant before installing the new system.
The Solution
After completing extensive planning works and consultation with 3rd party stakeholders, a multi-product solution was designed, with a Solid Energy AWB252 heat pump being specified for the main facility and a Thermonova Nova 220 for the second site, the athletics facility. Each unit would be crane lifted and positioned onto the roof and fitted with control systems for remote monitoring. Due to the facility being in constant use, a flexible solution was required to segregate the works over four, out of hours, shut downs.
