A prestigious school in East Yorkshire, St. Peters had a large solar PV system installed on two of the buildings on their school in York.
The school made the decision to invest in renewable energy solutions to improve their energy efficiency and to ultimately reduce their incredibly high energy bills.
Two solar PV systems were installed for the school on two halls across the site. On the North hall, 56 No. 545W solar panels were installed totalling 30.8kWp of capacity. One Solis 30kW 3-phase inverter with a power management device was also installed that can monitor the import and export. The annual solar production of this system is 25.65MW, and with an extremely short payback time of 2 years and 3 months, the system will save £312,544 throughout its lifetime.
On the South hall, 72 No. 545W solar panels were installed totalling to 39.6kWp of capacity. One Solis 40kw 3-phase inverter with a power management device to monitor the import and export similar to the device installed on the North hall. The annual solar production is 32.03MW and with another short payback time of 2 years and 11 months, the system will save the school another £357,232 over the systems lifetime. This equals a remarkable saving of £669,776 for the school by investing in solar panels.
