The Tesla Powerwall
Powerwall is a rechargeable home battery system, which stores the energy generated by solar to maximise efficiencies and provide backup protection for your home at market leading charge and discharge rates. When the solar PV system is generating more energy than the property is consuming, the Powerwall technology stores the additional electricity until it’s needed, for example at night, or when the grid is offline during a power outage. One individual unit can back up your entire home when a grid outage occurs.
The system is customisable to the energy needs of each property by providing smart controls, metering and energy monitoring through the Tesla app. It also includes time-based controls, which enable properties to use the less expensive solar energy during peak rate periods for properties that don’t generate enough electricity through their solar PV system to cover 100% of their usage.
